Abstract
ಪ್ರೊಫೆಸರ್ ಎಡ್ಮಂಡ್ ಜೆ.ಬಿ. ಫ್ರಾಂಕ್ ಅವರು ರಚಿಸಿದ ‘ದೇವರ ಸೇವಕ ರೇಮಂಡ್ ಎಫ್.ಸಿ. ಮಸ್ಕರೇನ್ಹಸ್ ಅವರ ಜೀವನ ಚಿತ್ರಣ’ ಕೃತಿಯು ಓದುಗರಿಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಹಾನ್ ಚೇತನದ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಕ್ಷ್ಯಾಧಾರಿತ ಪರಿಚಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಕಥೋಲಿಕರ ವಲಸೆ, ಟಿಪ್ಪು ಸುಲ್ತಾನನ ಕಾಲದ ಸೆರೆಯಾಳು ಜೀವನ ಮತ್ತು ಮಸ್ಕರೇನ್ಹಸ್ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯನ್ನು ಇದು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಬೆಂದೂರು ಧರ್ಮಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಗುರುವಿನಿಂದ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಧರ್ಮಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ವಿಕರ್ ಜನರಲ್ ಹುದ್ದೆಯವರೆಗಿನ ರೇಮಂಡರ ಪಯಣ, ಬೆಥನಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಕೈಗೊಂಡ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಕಾರಕ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ನೀಡಿದ ಕೊಡುಗೆ, ಬಡವರ ಏಳಿಗೆಗಾಗಿ ಪಟ್ಟ ಶ್ರಮ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ಸಂತರ ಪದವಿಯ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯನ್ನು ಈ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆಯು ಅನಾವರಣಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
