Guidelines for Reviewers
Confidentiality
- The unpublished manuscript is a privileged document. Please protect it from any form of exploitation.
- Reviewers must not cite a manuscript or refer to the work it describes before it has been published.
- Reviewers should not discuss a paper with its authors.
The Reviewer’s Role
- Impartiality: A reviewer should adopt a positive, impartial attitude, acting as the author’s ally to promote effective scholarly communication.
- Conflicts: If you cannot judge a given article impartially, please return the manuscript immediately to the editor.
- Timing: Reviews should be completed within 3-4 weeks. If you cannot finish on time, please inform the editor.
Evaluation Criteria
In your review, please consider the following aspects:
- Reliability & Originality: Is the work academically reliable? Is the subject important? Is the work original?
- Structure: Are the abstract and keywords adequate?
- Methodology: Is the research approach or design appropriate? Are the methods described adequately to allow reproduction?
- Results & Discussion: Are the results relevant to the problem posed and credible? Do the data warrant conclusions?
- References: Are references up to date and relevant?
Constructing the Report
- Tone: Criticism should be presented dispassionately; abrasive remarks must be avoided.
- Revisions: Differentiate between revisions considered essential and those judged merely desirable.
- Recommendation: Please do not make specific statements about the acceptability of a paper in the comments intended for the author; advise the editor separately.
