Dr. Irfan Rasool Najar

Dr. Irfan Rasool Najar has served as the Editor-in-Chief of the AKSHARASURYA JOURNAL since October 2022. He currently holds the position of Associate Professor at the Christ Academy Institute of Law in Bangalore, a role he assumed in May 2023 after serving as an Assistant Professor beginning in August 2020.

Teaching is an integral part of Dr. Najar's identity as an academician. As a dedicated educator, he has taught undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students across a variety of subjects, including Constitutional Law, Comparative Constitutional Law, National Security, Public Order and Rule of Law, and Human Rights Law. Throughout his teaching career, he has developed a unique “cartological method” to foster a new approach toward teaching law.

Professional Experience & Leadership:

Prior to his tenure at the Christ Academy Institute of Law, Dr. Najar gained extensive academic experience, holding faculty positions at several institutions:

  • Assistant Professor, School of Law, Sharda University (Aug 2019 - Aug 2020)
  • Assistant Professor, School of Legal Studies, Central University of Kashmir (Oct 2017 - July 2019)
  • Assistant Professor, School of Law, Lovely Professional University (July 2017 - Oct 2017)
  • Assistant Professor, ICFAI Law School, IFHE (Sept 2013 - June 2017)

At the Christ Academy Institute of Law, he actively contributes to institutional administration and development. He has been a Member of the IQAC since 2021. Additionally, he serves as the Convener of the Moot Court Committee and the Chairman of the Discipline Committee.

Research Interests & Publications:

Dr. Najar’s primary field of research interest is the study of power structures and their implications. He is a prolific legal scholar who has published numerous articles in prominent SCOPUS- and UGC-CARE-listed journals. Notable journal publications include his work in the Economic and Political Weekly, the ILI Law Review, and the Kashmir Journal of Legal Studies.

He has also authored major academic textbooks, including:
